JuqedGo

Business-event music without the DJ debate.

Summer fest, holiday party, team event, anniversary: when tastes from 25 to 60 collide, playing DJ becomes a minefield. With Juqed, the majority decides. Everyone gets a vote, nobody has to spin records, Auto-DJ covers the slow hours.

The scenario

An event that includes every generation.

Sales wants 80s pop, the juniors want indie, the CEO would settle for classic rock. A fixed Spotify playlist will polarize. Designating one person as "music coordinator" is thankless. A DJ costs a budget that often isn't there.

With Juqed, the music question becomes democratic. Voting makes it fair, fair-use prevents one department from hijacking the playlist, Auto-DJ bridges gaps with thematically fitting tracks. The night belongs to everyone, not the loudest voice.

App recommendation

Which Juqed app for your company event?

Both apps fit. The choice mainly depends on whether the venue has stable Wi-Fi for all guests.

Juqed (Mac) — for indoor venues with good Wi-Fi

If the event is at a venue with reliable Wi-Fi (hotel, event location, company premises with guest Wi-Fi), pick Juqed (Mac). Mac on the system, library + Apple Music, crossfade. The familiar DJ-setup experience plus the crowd actually deciding.

  • Local library + Apple Music combinable
  • Crossfade and BPM matching for dance sets
  • Requirement: stable Wi-Fi for all guests

Juqed Go (iPhone/iPad) — outdoor & mobile

Summer fest in a park, catering location without guest Wi-Fi, boat charter, open-air space: Juqed Go shines here — mobile data is enough, mixed networks work. One-tap start is also handy when IT doesn't want to set up a Mac just for this.

  • Works without shared Wi-Fi
  • Full Apple Music catalog — every generation covered
  • One-tap start, no IT setup needed

Setup on event day

How to set it up.

STEP 01

Host device to PA

Connect Mac or iPad to the event PA (XLR adapter, AirPlay, Bluetooth). Schedule a sound-check slot with the venue's tech crew.

STEP 02

QR codes on tables

One tap on "Print QR code" gives you a ready-made A4 PDF with the code, event URL, and a three-step guide — print it from the iOS share sheet or send it ahead to the event agency. Place a poster on every cocktail table and the bar. Optional: a beamer projection of the QR code before the event officially starts.

STEP 03

Sensible fair-use

Cooldown 5 min, song limit 3 per guest, vote limit 10/hour. Distribution stays fair, nobody hogs the stage.

Practical tips

What to watch out for.

  • Expect a generation mixSet Auto-DJ cold-start genre to "pop across decades" — covers most tastes.
  • Plan for speechesPause Auto-DJ or lower volume during speeches manually as host.
  • Compliance blacklistSongs with lyrics inappropriate for company events — onto the blacklist upfront. Easier than explaining later.
  • Opening & transitionFirst 30 minutes quieter, then open the dance floor — clear via volume and style change.
  • Anonymous nicknamesIf guests don't want to be named: the default "Guest" nickname is enough.
  • Brief the bar teamBartenders should know guests can scan the QR code — they're often the first stop for questions.
Business-event FAQ

Common questions about company events.

Can we use Juqed without IT setup?

Yes. Juqed Go starts with one tap — no IT setup, no account, no server. You need an iPhone or iPad with an Apple Music subscription and a sound system. Done.

How do we prevent one department from hijacking the playlist?

Through fair-use limits: cooldown 5 minutes, max 3 songs per guest in the queue, max 10 votes per hour. Influence distributes automatically — nobody has to play police.

Can we exclude songs with problematic lyrics?

Yes. The blacklist lets you block artists, titles, or terms entirely. Search won't show them to guests — awkward conversations avoided.

Does this work outdoors without Wi-Fi?

With Juqed Go, yes. Host and guests can join via mobile data, mixed networks work. Juqed (Mac) requires shared Wi-Fi.

Can we pause music during speeches?

Yes. As host, you can pause anytime, control volume, disable Auto-DJ. Guests only see what's playing and can't control anything — playback stays firmly in your hands.
